| Please do NOT book a brochure safari until you have read its review! Be aware that many of these safaris are overpriced and the itineraries are designed rather poorly. Expensive does not mean luxury. Some of the reviews have shocking conclusions! |
In this section we review the Africa Safari itineraries that are available to travel Advisors in booking engines from consortiums (Virtuoso, Ensemble, Signature, etc), host agencies, suppliers (Vacation.com, etc) and online booking portals. We also review itineraries that were recommended by magazines such as T&L and Conde Naste, who by the way, only support their high-end advertisers.
While reading the reviews take careful note of the fair market rack rates ("street values"), the comparisons to other safaris and the day-by-day comments. These will help you decide whether or not a particular safari offers good value for money.
Take very special care with luxury safaris. An expensive safari does not necessarily equate to a luxury safari. In fact, some of the most expensive brochure safaris are not considered luxurious at all! Please read the section about luxury safaris from the menus on the left.
