Why Sell Safaris?

Why Sell Safaris?

As written in Discovery Travel Adventures' African Safari: "Africa is dangerously addictive. Few people visit only once. Most are drawn back again and again, venturing even farther into remote tangled corners, searching for the peace that comes only from immersion in the natural world. "

There are several pieces of good news in that text! Because it is so addictive, Africa practically sells itself! It is music to a Travel Advisor's ears - if you have a happy client, he/she will book several more safaris with you! Therefore it is vitally important to gain your client's trust and to deliver a safari that will be remembered for years to come. Africa is alluring and a safari makes interesting talk around the water cooler; one can expect every client will happily convince at least six new potential clients!

Africa is a huge continent with huge countries and unlimited tourism potential. An internet search shows thousands of safari companies and so many choices that it is easy to feel overwhelmed. Imagine how your clients feel when they are starting to plan a safari. And there's the prize! There are huge opportunities for entrepreneurial travel Advisors who can advise consumers on where, when and how to go on safari. Here at F&S, we know East Africa very well and with our support you will be able to compete very successfully in the safari market.

Safaris are not cheap. Even a 3-star style safari will cost about $400 per person a day so a 10-day safari will cost about $8000 per couple. This means $800 - $1200 in commissions and additional earnings from selling flights, overnight hotels, travel insurance and extra activities such balloon flights! It is a very lucrative addition to your agency's revenue model.

Compare these kinds of commissions to cruises! If you sell a cruise with a sales price of $1,400, and with a NCF of $400, the commission is around $50. And the cruise lines keep lowering their prices to fill the ships because they can make it up with on-board purchases - but the travel agent is not so lucky.

IMPORTANT - A partnership with F&S allows you to enter the safari market even if you have never been on safari before! We provide the expertise and we do all the time-consuming work for you!  Even if you consider yourself an experienced safari Advisor you can benefit from a partnership with us because of the tools we provide and our expertise. You can reach new highs with exceptional custom itineraries and luxury experiences that very few safari Advisors can match.
