Using Google Earth

How do I get Google Earth™ and display your data?

1. Visit the Google Earth home page and download/install the FREE viewer.

2. Please read the terms & conditions

3. Load our data files into Google Earth - our data files are downloadable from various areas on our website with instructions

How do I use Google Earth?

1. It is very easy to use! But to get most out of the application we recommend you visit the Google Earth documentation pages

2. To get you started, here is a screenshot of the navigation page

a)  You load our data by clicking on the KMZ file we provide. When a dialog box appears, click "Open".

b)  Depending on your Browser settings, you may have to save the file to a local drive before opening it. GE will start and the data will load into a "Temporary Places" folder in the Places window.

c)  Just double-click on any of the folders or waypoints and you will "fly" to the place mark!

d)  To ensure that you can see 3D images, enable the "Terrain" box in the "Layers" window.

e)  To zoom, click the + or - buttons on the left of the console you see in the image above.

f)   To tilt (3D), use the slider on the right of the console.

g)  To move left or right, use the big buttons to the left and right of the console.

h)  If your image is too cluttered, just disable some of the boxes in the Places window!

i)   You will soon get the hang of it! Our relevant waypoints are orginized in folders called Roads, Lodging, etc.
