Savannah Camp

Serengeti Savannah Camp is about the bush experience and simplicity of a private safari without the high cost. A fully equipped camp designed for traditional safari comfort with ensuite bathrooms, great beds, warm showers and eco-friendly toilets.

Superb service, fantastic food, fresh, camp-baked bread, cold drinks, and the legendary, but traditional, Tanzanian warm welcome add to the discerning traveler's life changing experience.

Sundowners, following your reviving shower, signify the end of another special safari day.  As your favorite aperitif is served, the evening insect chorus serenades the sun farewell as it turns gloriously from yellow to orange to red to purple. The campfire is inviting and invariably strangers forge friendships and adventures are recounted; to the rhythms and sounds of the African night.

The dining tent continues the simply elegant theme, with superbly prepared classic cuisine served with flair and panache. Tanzania's best kept secrets its coffee and its tea are served any time you request, while the reasonably priced bar is well stocked with all the recognized favorites.  Special diets are a fully understood and catered for.

After dinner, lively conversation and star gazing are the name of the game here.

The tents give plenty of room for 2 comfortable beds, with a shelf for your torch, reading book and glasses, bedside shelves and luggage racks. The en-suite bathroom and dressing area are made for maximum comfort during use.

The tents are well lit with solar powered LED lights to prevent surprises or stress in an unfamiliar environment. No need to stumble around looking for your torch (which of course is safely lying on your bed's shelf). No need to balance your torch while trying to use the mirror.

Facilities

blankets, non-allergic pillows, looped towels

Solar powered LED lights inside the tents

Attentive, experienced camp crew

The camp has been specifically designed to retain the feel of a private, Explorer's camp without foregoing any essentials or stressing the environment unduly. Thus quality traditional style tents co-exist with freezers and gas cookers, the camp fire and hurricane lamps illuminate in harmony with solar power and a 240 volt generator. Everything fits together to provide a modern Adventurer's camp.

The superior tents are spacious frame tents with large verandah, permanent beds with duvets and spare blanket. These tents offer that extra room for a canvas wardrobe and an `al fresco' changing area outside the eco-friendly toilet and hot water bucket shower.

The dining tent with the outdoor campfire area serves as the centre of the camp and it is here that the bar and reference books can be found. Dining is usually a communal affair at shared tables, but special `starlight' dinners and private tables can often be arranged.
