The name Kuhama is a Swahili word that means “to move”. Kuhama Camp
will literally be relocating according to the movement of the
wildebeest and other migratory animals and the seasonal concentration
of wildlife. In harmony with the National Park’s conservation policy,
Kuhama Camp will be discreetly set in private campsites blending into
the surrounding natural environment.
The 15 spacious walk-in tents are tastefully furnished with beds and
bedside tables made of tropical hardwood, mattresses, pillows, fine
beddings including duvets, natural sisal rugs, lamps, luggage rack and
safari armchairs and table on the verandah. The ample windows with
mosquito netting keep the tents well ventilated and insect-free. All
the tents have en suite bathrooms with dressing table, bucket shower
and wash basin and flushing toilet.
The spacious and airy dining-tent provides all the facilities of a
classic restaurant including tables and chairs, table cloths and
napkins of quality fabric, crockery, glassware and cutlery.
The chef will pleasantly surprise you
with a wide selection of freshly cooked food combining local and
international cuisine.
A typical day on safari starts with a soft wake up call before
sunrise, with an early morning coffee, tea or hot chocolate and
pastries served on the verandah of your tent. Full breakfast, lunch
and candle-lit dinner will be served in the spacious mess tent or
alfresco in the bush.
