Green Season - May 2006

Nowadays green season does not mean fewer people! This image is typical of the Talek area where many package tourist stay and where there is control burning to keep the grass shorter. Good for plains animals and their predators but also for tourists! During the day minibuses drive to the Talek area from as far away as Sopa Lodge and Keekorok as the grasses are too high in the east for good game viewing.

Typical minivan sighting - this one near Keekorok. Some drivers put chains on their tires; this really ripped up the road. (Dec 2006)
