Nyumbu Tented Camp

  In keeping with their simple yet elegant style, Nyumbu camp is wild, yet with refined gentle class. Without compromising their service standards, the tented camp offers guests an opportunity to get closer to nature in style.

The camp is intimate, and completely unfenced, accommodating a maximum of only 30 guests, under canvas. It’s fully hosted by trained professionals from local community.

The camp have fully insect-proof custom designed tents (13 twins or doubles), equipped with proper beds, linen, bedside tables, and rugs. Bathrooms are en-suite and are equipped with hot shower and eco-toilet. There are safari chairs on the veranda of each tent. Tents can be converted to triples on request.

Open sided customized 4WD Landcruiser vehicles with roof hatches conduct game-viewing drives. Sole-use of vehicle is available at an extra cost.

Most meals are taken al-fresco or an open sided dining/ lounge mess tent. There is a fully stocked bar with a range of wines. A $30.00 per person per night supplement is payable in advance to include all drinks.

Laundry service can be provided at minimum cost. Please note this is a bush laundry not suitable for delicate items of clothing. Clients are advised to bring safari wear to last for duration of their stay.

There is no mains power however they do have 24-hour power supply in the tents for lighting through integrated solar systems. There is an inverter system off the generator (Batteries can also be charged on this system), and the refrigeration unit uses gas.

Children but are accepted but adults must be aware that the camp is not fenced and no additional facilities are available to occupy them outside the normal excursions. No baby equipment is provided.

All weather Ol Kiombo airstrip 23 kms away.
Scheduled flights twice daily from Nairobi (at extra cost)
