Lake
Manyara National Park home to tree climbing Lions is nestled at the
base of the escarpment on the eastern side of the Great Rift Valley.
The Great Rift forms part of a fault in the earth's crust which runs
800 km from Turkey to the mouth of the Zambezi River in Mozambique.
The word Manyara is of a
Masaai origin which is a thin succulent cactus like plant known as
"Euphorbia Tincalli". This plant was grown for livestock stockades.
The Hotel situated high above Lake Manyara National park offers
exceptional views over the National Park. The National Park is 330 km
squared. The National Park boasts over 380 bird species and a large
variety of flora and fauna with diverse habitats. The Lake, famous for
its millions of flamingos can be easy seen whilst lazing around the
pool or viewing deck.
